Additions to rules..previously on Important Info
It has come to our attention as well that a cheap play of basketball has been infiltrating the league. The XBL prides itself in calling this league a "sim" basketball league. Meaning videogame basketball will be played the closest it can to it's real life counterpart.
These are new rules we are enforcing very strictly effective immediately :
Gameplay Rules
1)The infamous "Runaway D" as they like to call it. While we are all guilty of it to a certain extent, this is not truly sim basketball. Everyone knows what it is. You are a defender on the game. The offensive team passes the ball and the ball handler becomes your assignment, you quickly switch off and let the "AI" take over. In some cases we will let this slide. For example : The Lakers just keep pummeling you down low with Shaq and u cannot stop him. Fine then, see if the AI can contain him. However, we strongly suggest you try and defend these guys most of the time. Anyone who keeps changing 100% of the time is just showing they cannot play D. Constant violators will be warned. If you are found that you have violated this rule more than once on a constant basis through the course of a game, you will be removed from the XBL.
2) Blatantly abusing someone who plays D manually. What we mean by this is that if you have Finley on the court and Sean Bradley at the same time, and you abuse the guy trying to play honest D by passing to Bradley 100 times and Finley once, that is not permitted. Now granted sometimes you can do this. Hell, if the manual defender is on the other side of the court and Bradley is open under the rim, you bet your ass I am passing to Bradley!!! However, if you are constantly passing to Bradley and running around in circles until you score a layup on your manual defender, we will take corrective action on you. That is what we do not want, blatant cheap strategies in our basketball league games. No cheap play, this is not street court up and down dunking basketball. This is a sim league. Any violators will be thrown out immediately.
Once again these rules are here to improve the gameplay of the league and make it an authentic experience. We realize they will not be followed 100% of the time due to circumstances that dictate it in the game, but do not abuse them. If you want dricas style play, please see your way out.
