4 in a row for Junior
Dale Earnhardt Jr. makes it 4 in a row at Talladega, finishing ahead of Kevin Harvick. 5 if you count the Busch race he won yesterday. Good thing he wasn't dinged up too badly in that huge 28-car wreck, although I believe he did suffer some damage to the front end which was later fixed in the pits.
And Junior moves up a spot to 2nd in points, 129 behind Matt Kenseth. Just for Nutz, Gordon was 8th and is now 5th in points, also gaining one spot. Big jumper as far as points was Elliott Sadler who moved up 10 spots to 10th with his third place finish; big losers today were Ricky Rudd and Johnny Benson, dropping 7 spots each to 19th and 23rd.
Good race. Nascar still sucks though. Good thing Jrs last name is Earnhardt and not Stewart, Gordon, Johnson, Vickers or anything else. They let him have that one. They have a rule book and change the rules interpretations weekly. Still a good race though....I am not taking anything awat from Jr. He did what he had to do.

Re: 4 in a row for Junior
I've heard two possible explanations. One, that NASCAR ruled that Kenseth forced Earnhardt below the line before the pass. I can believe that, it didn't look like there was much room. And two, that NASCAR ruled that moving below the line did not affect Earnhardt's track position. That doesn't appear to make sense but when I watched a replay this morning, from different angles it looked like Earnhardt's bumper was in front of Kenseth's a split second before the #8 went below the line. Now I doubt that Earnhardt could have seen that in the car, because he didn't have camera view from overhead.
Just FYI. Don't know which one of these is "official", just what the Sportscenter guys were saying today.

Quote:Before the race was even over, runner-up Kevin Harvick's team radioed NASCAR and demanded a review of the call. NASCAR did, and spokesman Jim Hunter said officials reviewed it again after the race and stood by their call not to black-flag Earnhardt.
"There is not a shadow of a doubt he was below the yellow line," Hunter said. "However, in our judgment, he had already improved his position and was past (Kenseth) when he went down there."
Earnhardt acknowledged going below the line, but he agreed with NASCAR that he had already passed Kenseth.
"I can honestly say if I did anything wrong, I would be the first driver to admit it," he said. "I know in my heart of hearts I did not go below the line to improve position."
Re: 4 in a row for Junior
