Hi all. I am very new to the low carb diet and I will tell you a little about myself. I'm 37, 5'5" and am currently weight 143. My goal weight is 130. I have started the South Beach Diet three days ago and every night I am just so tired. Now today I am tired before 11 am and feel really weak. I am following the diet closely and I am surely eating my share of food. Have any of you gone through this in the first two weeks of low carb. I have tried the low fat diets and managed to loose a total of 6lbs in 3 months (how depressing). I know that I am not overweight, but my mother and sister has always had a weight problem so I try to be very cautious. My eyes were really opened as I read South Beach book. I am such a carb junkie and really didn't realize how bad they are for me. So this is why I am giving low carb a try - and the fact that low fat dieting did nothing for me. Thanks for any help!!!!

I'm having almost the same problem. I'm doing a combination of Atkins and Curves dieting. It's been 3 days for me, and I feel slightly drained and weak. I think it's just our bodies trying to get used to living without all the carbs. Are you taking any fat burners or CLA? I think they help to feel a little more energized. I notice that you posted a week ago. Are you doing better now?

Hey! Yes I am doing much better, thanks. I guess you are right, it just took my body a while to function without the carbs. I will be starting phase II next week and I can't wait to eat a little fruit. Never thought I would miss it so much. I am not taking any suppliments, but I am glad you mentioned the fat burners. I have heard that they are good, but had never tried them. I know the South Beach diet is different than the Atkins (i think it is a little more liberal with the carbs than Atkins), but I am not familiar with the Curves. Hope it goes well for you. Thanks for repsponding.

I'm glad your doing better. I am doing much better, also. I know what you mean about missing fruit! It's been 2 weeks for me, and I've lost about 6 lbs. - I can't complain too much. However, there are a lot of low carb foods out there that make it easier. Hope you're sticking with it - the results are worth it!
