1st Annual "Thank You... We Know You're Out There"
My name is Terri Szendrodi and I'm one of 3 people who organized a Troop Support Rally and Concert to be held on Saturday May 28th at the Susquehanna American Legion Post 135 in Perryville, Md. My husband is military and I am also a volunteer for a soldier support organization called AdoptaPlatoon that supports our deployed US Military Troops.

In organizing this concert, we have met many fantastic people and have been over whelmed with the generosity extended by them.

We had initially not set out to organize this large of an event, but as time went on our ideas and ambitions grew. Driving through this region that is so rich in American and Military history, we became disconcerted at the lack of obvious support for our Military. Sure, you can find thousands of magnets on cars, but little else. To us, supporting our troops is more than just putting a magnetized bumper sticker on your car. America’s Sons and Daughters are out on the front lines of the world. They are providing, protecting and defending the freedoms we enjoy by virtue of being an American Citizen. They are not just ambassadors of democracy, but of humanity. They do not ask for honors or accolades, they simply ask not to be forgotten.

We started contacting various artists and as their responses grew, so did our event. The list of thank you letters we’ll be sending out has grown tremendously much to our excitement! To start off that list, a HUGE Thank You must be extended to the Susquehanna American Legion Post #135 for allowing us to use their facility to host this event. Finding a location was one of the largest hurdles we had to overcome.

We hope that you can come out and enjoy the day with us. Bring your lawn chairs and lets be sure that no Service member attending this event, or those who will see the video’s and pictures later on is left with a shred of doubt that they are in fact supported by their country!

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my email about this event. We hope to see someone from your station there on the 28th! I am attaching a link to our event website for more information. www.aapavatar.net/concert/index.html

Sincerely,

Terri Szendrodi
